May is Asian Heritage Month and the 31st Annual Asian Pacific American Heritage Festival attracted crowds of spectators for a celebration of Asian culture. The six hour event included performances by musicians and artists such as NYC Bhangra, KCP Arts, Soh Daiko and Magnetic North with Taiyo Na; presentations and info tables manned by Asian advocacy groups in New York; martial arts demonstrations; and food and drink from various Asian cuisines. The festival is organized each year by the Coalition of Asian Pacific Americans.

We went to the festival to capture some of the sights and sounds of the festival and to talk to some of the community groups represented there.
