Maibe González Fuentes is a Venezuelan journalist who worked for leading publications in her home country before moving to New York City in 2001, where she worked as a staff reporter for the Spanish-language newspaper Hoy. In 2005, she was a Spanish-language spokesperson for the Democratic mayoral candidate Fernando Ferrer. She served as a press liaison for community and ethnic media for the Manhattan Borough President’s Office and the New York City Department of Education. She holds a BA in Journalism from the Central University of Venezuela and a master’s degree in Urban Policy and Management from The New School University.
