Who we are

Our reporters have immigrant roots and can straddle two cultures to tell stories often unseen by the mainstream media.

We are based at the Center for New York City Affairs at The New School, a nonpartisan institute dedicated to advancing innovative public policies that strengthen neighborhoods, support families and reduce urban poverty.

How it all started

Our very first effort was a one-hour radio documentary first broadcast in May 2005.

Based on our initial success, we decided to make Feet in Two Worlds an ongoing project to bring the work of immigrant and ethnic media journalists to public radio and the web.
